Elon Musk’s 75-year-old mother rushed to his defense on social media, explaining that he was just trying to “make the world a better place”

Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur behind companies like Tesla, SpaceX, and  Twitter, has often been a polarizing figure, receiving praise and criticism in equal measure. However, in a rare public defense of her son, Maye Musk, Elon’s 75-year-old mother, took to social media to explain his motivations and address the criticism surrounding him.

A Mother’s Perspective

Maye Musk, a renowned dietitian and model, shared a heartfelt post on her social media platforms, underscoring that her son is driven by a desire to “make the world a better place.” In her message, she expressed her unwavering support for Elon, who has faced backlash over various business decisions, public statements, and controversies.

She wrote: “People often misunderstand Elon. He’s not motivated by money or fame—he’s motivated by the idea of improving humanity. Whether it’s making electric cars mainstream, reducing the risk of human extinction through space exploration, or ensuring the free flow of information on platforms like  X, his goal has always been the same—to leave the world in a better place than he found it.”

Facing Unjust Criticism

Elon Musk’s various ventures, from pioneering electric vehicles to revolutionizing space travel, have earned him both admiration and disdain. His leadership at X (formerly Twitter) has been particularly contentious, with critics citing his handling of the platform as erratic and controversial. Additionally, his public persona often attracts headlines, whether for his tweets, public feuds, or outspoken opinions.

Despite the controversies, Maye Musk’s defense focused on the core principles that drive her son. She acknowledged that Elon’s bold approach might make him a target of criticism but emphasized that his long-term vision is what matters. “Sometimes the path to progress isn’t easy,” she wrote. “People may not always understand the means, but they should understand the end goal: a better world for future generations.”

A Lifelong Supporter

Maye Musk’s support for her son is not new. She has consistently spoken about Elon’s character and determination. She has publicly stated that Elon’s ambition to reach Mars and his desire to challenge the status quo stem from a childhood curiosity about science and the universe. Maye has often shared stories of Elon’s early interest in technology and innovation, painting a picture of a child with a boundless imagination who eventually turned those dreams into reality.
