Adopting a paralyzed dog or cat may not be for everyone, but it can be a rewarding experience. Sadly, many disabled pets are abandoned. Lunita, a disabled dog, was left on the streets of Salta, Argentina, in May 2014, with only a note explaining her condition. She was found with her hind legs still attached to a damaged wheelchair. Thankfully, a rescue group named LUBA Salta took her in.
Lunita was placed in a foster home and her story was shared online. Eventually, a family in the United States adopted her, but things went wrong due to improper care, leading to severe infections. Despite this, Lunita eventually found a new family, and with their love and medical care, she recovered.

Lunita thrived in her new home, enjoying her first snowfall, traveling, making friends, and celebrating her 11th birthday with a special cake. Sadly, after her birthday, her health declined, and she passed away surrounded by her family.

Though her life was filled with challenges, Lunita’s final years were full of love and joy, showing the power of perseverance. Rest in peace, Lunita.
