Father Of Slain Teen Criticizes School For Allowing Alleged Killer To Graduate

The father of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf, who was fatally stabbed at a Frisco track meet, is fighting to stop the suspected killer from receiving a high school diploma.

Austin was stabbed in the heart on April 2 during a fight at Kuykendall Stadium. The suspect, 18-year-old Karmelo Anthony, was charged but later placed under house arrest. Despite this, Centennial High School plans to grant Anthony his diploma, sparking outrage.

Austin’s father, Jeffrey Metcalf, filed a formal complaint against the school for awarding the diploma to Anthony. Anthony’s spokesman said the suspect won’t participate in graduation due to house arrest but will still graduate early.

Anthony’s family claims he acted in self-defense and denies the murder charge.
