Officials at the College of Charleston say 19-year-old Owen Kenney, from Monmouth County, went missing early Friday morning near campus.
Charleston police later confirmed through video evidence that Kenney walked onto the Ravenel Bridge pedestrian walkway just before 4 a.m. on Oct. 31. Authorities say the search has now shifted to recovery efforts.
“Our priority has always been and will remain Owen’s family,” Charleston Police Chief Chito Walker said in a statement. “This is a real case involving a real family living through unimaginable pain, and they deserve compassion, privacy, and support from all of us.”
