Chimpanzee Saves His Best Friend from Fire

Chimpanzee Saves His Best Friend from Fire. In one of the most unbelievable rescues you’ll ever hear, a chimpanzee in Gainesville, Florida, is being hailed a hero after saving his best friend from a house fire. Neighbors say the chimp, well known in the community for wearing hoodies and his inseparable bond with his dog, was trapped inside when the blaze broke out late Tuesday evening.

Firefighters said they recognized the address right away. “We all knew about the chimp and his dog,” one firefighter said. “Honestly, we were worried sick pulling up.”

But before the crew could even make entry, the chimp came running through the smoke dog clutched safely in his arms. “His obsession with hoodies most likely saved them both,” a firefighter explained. “Without it, he would have caught fire in seconds.”
