In the United States, firefighters rescue not only people but also animals.(Video)

Hundreds of animals are receiving care from humane organizations in Southern California as fast-moving wildfires displace residents and pets alike. Rescue groups have taken in a variety of animals, from cats and dogs to horses and even a parrot named Ducky. Many pets are temporarily boarded while their owners stay in evacuation centers, while others are being treated for burns, dehydration, and smoke inhalation.

Pasadena Humane has taken in over 400 animals, including a pony, while the Los Angeles Equestrian Center is sheltering 200–300 horses and even a 200-pound pig. Donations have poured in, but shelters now request monetary support due to space limitations.

As rescue efforts continue, emotional reunions between pets and their owners bring hope. “Seeing families reunited feels like a step in the right direction,” said Ana Bustilloz of spcaLA.
