Passenger’s Revenge After Her TV Was Blocked by Someone’s Hair

Note: We are republishing this story, which originally made news in November 2020.
A viral TikTok video with over 97 million views shows two airplane passengers getting into a bizarre dispute — all sparked by one woman’s long hair. In the clip, a front-row passenger lets her long hair hang over the seat, completely blocking the TV screen of the woman behind her. At first, the rear passenger simply flips the hair back over the seat, but the front passenger repeatedly tosses it forward again.

After a flight attendant walks by, the woman in the back takes things much further. She appears to snip pieces of the hair, stick a lollipop in it, and even dip the hair into her cup of coffee. The two continue flicking the hair back and forth, while the woman in front seems unaware of what’s happening.
The video exploded online, drawing mixed reactions.

Some viewers felt the front passenger was rude and deserved the retaliation. “At first I was with the lady in the front,” one commenter wrote, “but after she kept throwing her hair back, she got what she deserved.” Others were skeptical, pointing out that both passengers wore similar hats, suggesting they might know each other. Many also argued that the whole thing seemed staged.

“You would absolutely know someone is touching your hair,” one person said. Another added, “Come on, that’s a wig! Totally staged!” Whether real or acted, the video stirred up debates about airplane etiquette — and how far is too far when dealing with inconsiderate behavior.
