Teen Idol Bobby Sherman Delivered 5 Babies as an EMT and Sacrificed his Career to Raise His Sons – Details

Bobby Sherman, once a teen idol in the late 1960s and early 1970s, transitioned from pop star to emergency medical technician (EMT). Known for his hit songs and role in Here Come the Brides, Sherman captivated fans with his charm and music. However, the pressures of fame led him to step away from the entertainment industry in the late 1970s.

After his acting career slowed, Sherman pursued a new passion in emergency medicine, becoming a certified EMT. Inspired by his role on Emergency!, he advanced to EMT-Defibrillation and later trained officers with the LAPD. Sherman also delivered five babies in the field, one of whom was named after him. Despite stepping away from fame, his legacy endured, and he returned briefly to the stage in the late 1990s.

Sherman married Patti Carnel in 1971, having two sons before their divorce in 1978. He later married Brigitte Poublon, and together they co-founded charitable organizations. Sherman’s journey from teen idol to lifesaver illustrates his evolution from a pop sensation to a devoted father and public servant.
