Grandma’s final photo of granddaughter minutes before she’s killed

A woman shared a heartbreaking photo of her granddaughter, Scarlett Jensen, taken shortly before her tragic death in a hit-and-run on October 7, 2022. Scarlett, her 2-year-old brother Henry, and their grandmother were walking in their driveway in Oldtown, Idaho, when a speeding Chevy Tahoe hit them. Scarlett was killed instantly, and Henry and their grandmother were critically injured. The driver fled but was later caught and sentenced to ten years in prison.

Samantha Jensen, Scarlett’s mother, later discovered the last photo her mother took of Scarlett, just five minutes before the accident. The photo shows Scarlett picking flowers, taken during a brief stop after an ice cream outing.

Though devastated at first, Samantha now sees the image as a precious memory of her daughter’s peaceful final moments. Despite the overwhelming grief, the family is healing with therapy and faith. Samantha is thankful for the photo, which reminds her of Scarlett’s joy and beauty.
