Update: Man who confessed to keying Tesla cybertruck could be charged with a felony

WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – A criminal complaint involving a Fargo man accused of vandalizing a Tesla truck in the West Fargo Costco parking lot on Saturday has been sent to prosecutors.

The complaint accuses Ryan Lyle Williams of felony criminal mischief. Police say Williams keyed the truck on Saturday.

Williams’ vehicle was identified with the help of nearby business and Tesla vehicle cameras. Police say he admitted to the vandalism.

Tesla owner Mitch Benson put pictures and video on social media. The post was shared more than 1,300 times on Facebook.

Police say the investigation remains open.
