I used to feel embarrassed telling people what my dad did for a living… until the day I realized he’s the real definition of a hero. 💚

Every day, before most of us even wake up, my father is already out there — in his green uniform, gloves on, ready to do the job that keeps our city alive.

He’s a garbage collector.
Not a glamorous job. Not one people post about. But one that truly matters.

When I was younger, I used to hide it. I’d tell my friends, “My dad works for the city,” because I was afraid of what they’d say. But as I grew up, I realized something powerful — my father is one of the people who makes this world actually work.

While others rest, he’s up before dawn, cleaning, lifting, sweating — making sure our streets stay clean and safe. No applause. No spotlight. Just quiet dedication.

Today is his birthday 🎂
And I just want to say — thank you, Dad.
Thank you for teaching me what real dignity looks like. For showing me that respect isn’t about titles or money — it’s about the heart you bring to what you do.

If you’re reading this and you don’t look down on people who work hard for an honest living — whether they’re collectors, cleaners, or builders — thank you too.
Because this world runs because of people like them.

Happy birthday to my hero in green. 💚
You may collect garbage — but to me, you’ve always carried pride.
