Hollywood actress Eva Longoria is stepping into the political spotlight in Texas, joining Democratic U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico at a campaign rally in San Antonio as the state approaches the November 3 election.
Longoria was scheduled to introduce Talarico at the event on Saturday, October 24, at Club 1902 in downtown San Antonio. The rally was set to run from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. local time as part of Talarico’s statewide “Clear Eyes, Full Hearts” campaign tour.
According to the San Antonio Current, the actress had already endorsed Talarico during a virtual “Latinos con Talarico” event the previous month. Her appearance in San Antonio marked a further show of public support for his Senate campaign.
Eva Longoria’s Support for James Talarico
Longoria, best known for her role in the hit television series Desperate Housewives, has also been active in political and community causes. Born in Corpus Christi, Texas, she has personal ties to the state and to San Antonio.
During her earlier endorsement, Longoria emphasized issues affecting Texas families, neighborhoods, businesses and schools. She argued that the election would have consequences beyond Washington, highlighting the importance of local communities and public participation.
Her involvement adds a recognizable Hollywood name to Talarico’s campaign events during the final stretch before Election Day.
A Key Campaign Stop Ahead of Election Day
Talarico is running against Republican Ken Paxton in the November 3 U.S. Senate election. With early voting underway across Texas, both campaigns are working to reach voters before the final day of the election.
The San Antonio rally was part of Talarico’s “Clear Eyes, Full Hearts” tour, a statewide effort to connect with supporters and encourage voter participation. The tour’s name references the popular television drama Friday Night Lights, which is set in Texas and is known for its high school football themes.
The campaign also planned another stop in San Antonio on November 1, just two days before Election Day.
Why San Antonio Matters
San Antonio is an important stop for campaigns seeking to connect with voters across Texas. Longoria and Talarico both have ties to the city: Longoria previously lived there, while Talarico worked as a teacher at Rhodes Middle School on San Antonio’s West Side earlier in his career.
The rally brought together entertainment and politics at a moment when candidates were intensifying their efforts to reach voters across the state.
As the November 3 election approaches, campaign appearances by public figures such as Longoria are drawing attention to the high-profile Senate contest and the broader political activity taking place throughout Texas.
