Wheel of Fortune Player Wins Car After Solving This ‘Tricky’ Puzzle

“Wheel of Fortune” fans are used to heartbreak in the bonus round, but contestant Jeff Richardson flipped the script with a stunning comeback — and drove off in a brand-new Ford Explorer. Richardson started strong, quickly solving early puzzles and racking up $8,450. The momentum briefly shifted when fellow contestant Stalter grabbed the Prize Puzzle and the lead, but Richardson rallied in the final rounds, finishing on top with $16,650 in cash. That victory earned him a shot at the Bonus Round.

Joined by his niece Elizabeth, Richardson spun the bonus wheel and chose the category “Phrase.” The board revealed three tricky words: “O_ T O_ _O_NDS.” After selecting G, M, D, and O, the puzzle looked just within reach. When the clock began, Richardson didn’t hesitate. “Out of Bounds,” he declared.

Host Ryan Seacrest grinned as the answer lit up the board. Inside his golden envelope? A brand-new 2025 Ford Explorer Active. Richardson’s final haul: $61,855 in cash and prizes. Fans erupted online, thrilled not only by his win but by the fact that it marked the second car giveaway on the show that week.
